There are two things i believe will happen tonight. One we will be treated to an entertaining fight and two, that entertainment will be short lived. If the Berto and Maidana fights proved anything, its that Berto can't take a punch. Sure, the Berto matchup showed  Ortiz has heart but if he's getting hit with cleaner, more numerous and harder shots from the opening bell will that heart be able to save him? I think not. Will his southpaw stance befuddle Mayweather? Ask Zab Judah.

Resumes are not even worth comparing. Mayweather has fought and beat a who's who of 5 different weight divisions over the past ten years. Ortiz has fought Berto, Maidana and Lamont Peterson. Of those fights he was only victorious in one, and he was on the canvas twice in that bout. Granted it seems like Ortiz's skills are improving, have they improved enough to go from barely edging B+ fighers to beating an A+ fighter? I think you know the answer to that. Lastly, aside from all the obvious advantages let's not forget that this is only Ortiz's second fight at welterweight whereas Mayweather hasn't fought below welter since 2005 when he decimated Arturo Gatti.

The way I see this fight playing out is similar to the Mayweather/Hatton match but quicker and shorter. Ortiz will come out blazing trying to take it to Mayweather. This will lead to some exciting moments when it seems like Ortiz is getting to Floyd but Floyd's defense will parry this onslaught with ease. On occasion he will counter Ortiz with hard rights and this will begin to give Ortiz pause. Once it becomes a boxing match, Mayweather will begin to shine. By shine I mean crack Ortiz's weak defense and hit him with everything he has to offer. I expect by the middle to late rounds Ortiz will be battered and in a position to be KO'd or possibly put out of his mercy by his corner or the ref.
