Well if physiques could win fights then Timothy Bradley has already put this one in the books. If he loses, however, he surely will have offers for some underwear ads. All joking aside this is a very intriguing matchup that could be yet another highly entertaining bout of 2009. Both men are young, skilled boxers who have something to prove. While Bradley's resume is the more impressive with a win against Junior Witter, Holt recently looked good against the highly skilled Demetrius Hopkins, and of course battled bravely to an impressive knockout in his most recent fight with Ricardo Torres. However, Bradley is one of the best pure boxers in the game right now and to win this fight, Holt is going to have to use his height/reach advantage and keep the fight at a distance. Holt has a tendency to mix it up and if he is unable to keep his composure and fight tall, then Bradley will no doubt outbox him.
I see the early rounds of this fight being a feeling out process with both men having their moments but neither taking the upper hand. In the middle rounds I expect Bradley to start getting closer to Holt and do some damage on the inside. Bradley's superior conditioning will begin to show in the later rounds as he begins to outclass Holt and land combinations to the head and body. At the end I expect Bradley to walk away with a close decision win.
The way to bet this fight is 3 units on Bradley by decision at +200. Bradley has minimal power and being the smaller man I find it unlikely that he will test Holt's chin. While Holt was floored in the Torres fight he was able to come back and take the knockout. His toughness should get him through this one without any major problems. I think the risk here is a big Holt right hand finding its way to Bradley's chin, but based on Bradley's excellent defense I don't see this happening. Good luck!
