OUTCOME: Khan by TKO
ANDY'S PICK: Barrera by TKO
THE PAYOUT:
-2.0 Units
Barrera is a 2-1 underdog against Amir Khan??? What's wrong with this picture?
A legend who has fought only the pound for pound best over the last five years is facing the boxing equivalent of a child, who in turn has hardly fought anyone in the top 100 let alone the top 10. To makes matters even more bizarre, the only time Khan faced anyone worth his weight in salt (Breidis Prescott) he was practically knocked out by the first punch of the fight.
Well apparently the odds makers know something I don't. Yes Barrera is moving up in weight and yes he is the far short man and yes he is 13 years Khan's senior. But come on! In his last meaningful fight, Barrera fought, for the most part, competitively with Manny Pacquiao for twelve rounds. This is the legendary Marco Antonio Barrera we are talking about here. Even if he is well past his prime, a washed up Barrera could beat Khan 9 out of 10 times in my humble opinion.
The way I see this fight going in the early rounds is Khan using his jab feverishly to keep the smaller Barrera at bay. This tactic will work for a while but then Barrera will start finding his way to the inside in the middle rounds at which point he will begin punishing Khan's rib cage. By the later rounds, if Khan is still standing, I expect Barrera to be roughing him up badly. It's only a matter of time before the inexperienced Khan is laid to rest by the Mexican legend.
The way to bet this fight is 2 units on Barrera by KO at +250. While it's conceivable that Barrera can win a decision, the near even odds don't quite compensate you for the risk. Good luck!

Everyone has a run of bad luck.
Keep at it.
I notice you go for big odds, perhaps if you played the 'win' straight more often?
