In what should be the highlight of quite an exciting night of boxing, two world class veterans will battle in what should be Cassamayor's last fight as a top contender. Marquez is just to damn good and Cassamayor is just too far past his prime. In his last fight, Marquez, in my opinion, outboxed Manny Pacquiao, widely considered pound for pound, the best fighter in the world. In Cassamayor's last bout he was clearly about to be outpointed by Michael Katsidis when the Australian got sloppy and walked right into a huge left hook. We all saw how Juan Diaz outclassed Katsidis so what chance does the Cuban have against arguably the best pound for pound fighter in the sport? The answer is none. I expect Marquez to shine tomorrow night and easily handle a washed up Cassamayor, whose last truly impressive win was nearly five years ago.
The way to bet this fight is Marquez by decision at -130. I'll give Cassamayor's chin the benefit of the doubt seeing that he's never been knocked out and that Marquez is not a huge puncher. Good luck!
