In what should be a very entertaining bout, two fighters are coming off the first defeats in their respective careers. While I will not underestimate Katsidis' hunger in this fight, I believe Diaz is the far more skilled of the two. The interesting aspect of this fight is the fact that both fighters love to press the action with volume punches. Therefore fans might be treated to a potentially furious toe to toe battle for at least a few rounds before Diaz begins to gain the upper hand. Diaz throws the straighter punches and will counter Katsidis very effectively, slowly beating him to a pulp. The Australian warrior demonstrated in the Cassamayor fight that his heart can get the better of him and I expect this fight to be no different. After battling Diaz competitively for five or six rounds, the relentless head and body assault of the Mexican will prove to be too much. I expect the ref to halt the carnage before the 11th.
The bet here is Diaz by KO at +130. Katsidis cannot stop Diaz so the only risk I see is that Katsidis somehow toughs it out for the full 12 rounds. I don't expect he can. Good luck!
