I'm not sure why this mismatch is something boxing fans have to pay for but I guess thats how high Pacquiao's stock is these days.  When he meets David Diaz, yes he will be stepping up in weight but he will also be facing a boxer who was knocked out by Kendall Holt, fought to a draw with Ramazan Palyani (who?) and barely got past Ramon Montano (again, who?) in his most recent fight.  Their only common opponent, Erik Morales, was a shell of his former self when Diaz edged him in points, sending him into well deserved retirement.  When a badly undertrained and distracted Pacquiao lost to Morales in their first fight, he was fighting the true Mexican warrior.  He made up for it by summarily destroying him in their next two meetings.

So the only question here is whether Diaz can survive the full twelve.  Based on the Holt fight alone, the answer must be no.  Pacquiao has enough power to put down anyone within 2 divisions of lightweight and Diaz is very hittable.  I expect Diaz to fight valiantly for a few rounds before succumbing to the Pac Man onslaught by the 8th.

The only way I see to bet this fight is Pacquiao by KO at -140.  While the odds are not great I think this outcome is almost a foregone conclusion. Good Luck!
